No, it means CCP are slowly taking away another of the few unique things to be had outside of hi sec. Your alliance are getting a bit nerfed... and with a smile! Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Yep looks like this new bounty system is hollowing out the game Yep I guess EVE really is 75% PVE players with no interest whatsoever in pvp.
A more scientific approach would be to check the day's ships killed stats over the 4 main trade hubs and see how they relate with the % increase of players who did stuff in them.
Or, to make stuff simpler, take yesterday's and todays ships destroyed per hub, normalize them, then divide the day's peak playerbase by those destructions. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

If CCP follows through with their plans on hitting PvE even harder when they "fix" the current AI defect where the NPC's only go after the 1st wave of drones, well, that should make things really interesting.
This is one of the two delicate times of the year when long time (6 - 12 months) subscribing players decide whether to renew the sub or not. Also, peak players = peak of people who scrutinize the game.
CCP have just to pray that very few of those are adversely affected with some of their most annoying new features. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

It's incredible how the all time charts has an incredible similarity with a market chart, with a number of easily identified patterns. It should not behave like that... it should just be statistics. But apparently the same human reactions and feelings that make markets under and overshoot, seem to be also represented in the EvE subscription graphs. One could argue that if the tools applied to market charts analysis can be applied to statistical charts, then those tools are nothing more than voodoo magic and the next logical step would be to make trading decision based on the pattern in chicken blood.
Well both the sources of data (markets and players) come basically from market or game actors who express their opinion / belief about buying / selling / playing / not playing.
It's expecially intriguing because it's not the first time the concurrent players history has been used to predict the player base for the next months.
In a now long gone yet actual April 2011 thread, famous poster Akita T expressed the collective blame for EvE's dropping quality in hasty, unfinished, brainless development: "Alter bad new company direction, STOP rushing stuff out."
More as a pass time than a serious intention, basing on the concurrent players chart, young me I posted a chart based on QEN's official concurrent players history, correctly predicting the dramatic drop in player base coming in the next months. Notice how I was quite going against the "obvious knowledge" back at the time, since the game was hitting highest and highest peaks with no drop since release.
Then Incarna happened. And we know how it went. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity
